Susan Bednarz is an artist and engineering geologist who lives on a farm in southwest Washington. She combines her love of art with her knowledge of geology to produce paintings that illustrate how earth processes shape the landscape.

Susan uses watercolor, gouache, and pastel to convey the beauty of the natural landscape in the western United States. Specifically, she focuses on the interface between the earth and sky, showcasing the rugged beauty and variety of the exposed rock and soil.
